A couple of weeks ago, I passed by a sports card shop in a mall. I went to that shop once or twice before, but I was just taking a look and didn’t buy anything previously. This time, I was thinking if I could find something interesting there.

MVPs from the bullpen

Last month, I was checking on an online sports card shop and found some lucky bags available. I bought some packs and found some autograph cards. One is a Rollie Fingers autograph card, which looks pretty good. And, I went to check on his stats on the great baseball reference website.

Better late than never?

Eventually, 2021 Topps Big League arrived in shops this April. This product was supposed to be released last May. Delays are normal, however, a 1-year delay is just so unbelievable. But, better late than never? When the 2021 Topps Big League became available, I went to a sports card shop to get some packs to see whether I could find something interesting.

Dangerous at home?

We are near the end of the second month of the 2022 season. Each team has played around 20 home games. This season, some players truly love to play at home because they have been hitting very well.

2022 Topps Series 1 blaster box

I bought some hobby packs of the 2022 Topps Series 1  a couple of months ago, trying to find a Wander Franco rookie card. However, I didn’t get any Wander Franco rookie cards. I truly want to get a Wander Franco rookie card, so I was checking online to see there were any good options.

Way too early Rookie of the Year?

Each team has played nearly 40 games so far this season. Some players have a brilliant start, however, some players still need some time to heat up. It might still be too early to say who has a great season. Nonetheless, some rookie players are doing something impressive to start the season.

2016 draft

A couple of days ago, I was listening to a podcast show and in the show, they talked about MLB drafts. And, a guest in the show indicated that some players who were selected in the first round in the 2016 draft haven’t played well in the MLB so far. That drew my interests to see who were selected in the 2016 draft.

First shot: Bowman Platinum

A couple of weeks ago, a friend wanted to buy some books on Amazon Japan and asked me whether I would like to buy something. I checked on Amazon Japan and thought that it might be fun to buy some baseball cards. There were several choices available. After thinking for a few days, I decided to get a blaster box of 2021 Topps Bowman Platinum because I never bought it before and the price was affordable for me.

Struggle against curveballs?

A few weeks ago, I listened to a podcast show and the host indicated that a team truly struggled against curveballs last season. And, I was wondering whether what he said was true.

First inning, ok?

A couple of weeks ago, I was watching a game on TV and a pitcher used a lot of pitches in the first inning. Meanwhile, on the screen, it showed that he had an ERA over 4 in the first innings last year. That makes me think of a question, are there any other pitchers who have the same problem?

Miller time?

A few years ago, I went to a friend’s place to watch a playoff game. A pitcher came out of the bullpen and was ready to take the mound. “Oh, it’s Andrew Miller,” my friend said. I couldn’t remember Andrew Miller’s performance in that game, however, many fans might still remember his outings in the 2016 ALCS.

Do more damage?

A couple of days ago, we just saw some pitchers who have pitched well with runners in scoring position this season. Now, let’s see which players hit well with runners in scoring position.

A couple of weeks ago, I was watching a baseball game and on TV, it showed that a pitcher did pitch well with runners in scoring position last season. It’s been almost a month since the 2022 season began and I’m just wondering whether this pitcher is also pitching well with runners in scoring position this year.
